Colliery Lift Shafts are powered by a steam engine. Here the engine is under construction.

Engine house now has a roof.
Scratch built from bits of throwaway plastic, metal and cardboard tubing. Another man's trash makes this treasure of a boiler, designed to run the engine which will drive the lift shaft cages up and down.

Coal Mine is starting to take shape.
Work now ceased for the summer and will commence again at a later date. Watch this space for further developments!
