Heavonam Harbour
The long drag up to the coal depot. Shunter to push coal wagons up the slope
Buttercups grow among the rough grass which is holding up the broken sleeper fencing
Unloading the coal into the conveyor and closely watched by the boss.
Coal is loaded day and night. The country's demand for fuel doesn't diminish when the sun goes down! Coal is unloaded from the wagon at the top left of the photo and it moves down the conveyor belt, (motorised) till it lands in the coal barge. Workers shovel the spillage and make sure the fuel is heaped safely on board.
Gaffer reads his paper while coal is being loaded. It's thirsty work sweeping the coal scraps from the roof of the cabin. Coal barge made out of a Weetabix box and some balsa wood.
Long view of the coal barge.

There are vandals even on here evidenced by the broken chain linking and the railway fencing! Trespassers will be prosecuted!
Kids race on bikes while father and son chat for a while enjoying the view
Homeless man Wandering Walter muses on the park bench with his belongings in carrier bags. Each cobble was individually made using Das clay
On the other side of the fence the vandal who broke the chain and the fencing to trespass on the railway is arrested. His accomplice is hiding in the bushes at the bottom left of the photo
Another view of the arrest with the second man as yet undetected. Note the handcuffs in the hand of one of the police officers
The engine driver can't resist watching the drama from his cab. He has a good vantage point but............
In doing so he narrowly misses hitting another police officer who is searching for the second trespasser!
The coal train crew share a cuppa and a chat while the yard's ginger cat sits on the dustbin hoping for scraps
Idling in the shed the shunter and J94 await their next movements
British Transport Police van awaiting its next batch of passengers!
Small motorboat moored by the jetty steps. Owner uses a dingy to reach his boat. His lobster and crab creels piled at the top of the steps.
Dingy bobbing about in the choppy water while waiting for its owner to come back
Seaweed and barnacles cling to the harbour walls as water from the hills drains down and into the harbour from an overflow pipe in the wall.
Another view of the small motorboat moored by the jetty steps.
Eager to be off on the boat the skipper's beagle waits for his owner at the top of the steps.
